I’ve been an avid Facebook user since I was 16, and I joined the Twitter world almost a year ago. And then back in the day there was MySpace, and I think I even had a Xanga at one point. Other than FourSquare, which I think is creepy and weird, I thought that basically covered the extent of social networks. But in class today we talked about two up-and-coming social networking sites, Quora and Diaspora. Quora describes itself as, “A continually improving collection of questions and answers,” that acts as a mix of Twitter and Wikipedia. Diaspora is a “Facebook-killer,” promoting the privacy security that Facebook lacks. Check out these videos on the new social networking sites:
